Stefanie Denz, MFA, is offering a weekend painting workshop in either oil or acrylic paint at the Wisteria Guest House on Salt Spring Island on June 18 & 19.

"Our goals will include developing imagery, expression and use of original effects. Over the two days we will begin by awakening our ideas, abstract or figurative, using sketches, photos, ancient dreams, or recent moments and begin the process of putting them to a two dimensional surface. Through practice our understanding of composition, colours, and techniques expands. Finally we look to what our work is presenting us with, fine tuning and learning the lessons of our own expression."

Stefanie presents a thorough foundation for drawing and paining as well as encourages new techniques and developing personal style. She includes art historical references, art books,
and individual and group critiques.

Stefanie has been painting for over 25 years and teaching drawing and painting for 15 years. She has won numerous awards and has exhibited in Canada, USA , NZ and Germany.
She currently lives with her family on Salt Spring Island BC.

Workshop:
The workshop will be held on June 18 & 19 in the guests' lounge at the Wisteria Guest House from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Included in the cost is the following:

• Lunch on Saturday & Sunday
• Coffee service
• All painting materials

In addition, a dinner is being served on Saturday evening for those who are interested. The cost is extra and reservations are required.

For those wishing to stay at the Wisteria, a weekend package is available which includes 2 nights accommodation with breakfast, lunch on Saturday & Sunday and the Saturday dinner.

Cost:

• Workshop only:$230 plus HST (or $200 plus HST if you want to bring your own materials)
• Workshop with Saturday night dinner: $270 plus HST
• Weekend package (includes accommodation & meals):
  • $470 plus HST (single occupancy in room with shared bath)
  • $500 plus HST (single occupancy in room with private bath)
  • Additional $70 plus HST for a second person in either a shared or private room
