How do I get to Salt Spring?Check out this site with lots of detailed information on transportation options via ferry and seaplane: Salt Spring Market Note: BC Ferries has 2 options for travel from Vancouver to Salt Spring Island : purchase a "direct" ferry from Tsawwassen to Long Harbour (Salt Spring), or purchase a "thru fare" ticket so you can travel between Vancouver (Tsawwassen) and Salt Spring Island via a connection at Victoria (Swartz Bay). Do I need a car on Salt Spring?Though you can get around without a car (via walking/public bus/taxi), having a car makes it a lot easier for sighseeing around the island and outside of Ganges. If you do choose to come without a car, Ganges Village & Marina is only a 10 minute walk and has lots of restaurant options and shops to explore. We also have 2 grocery stores within walking distance. The BC Transit bus stops in front of the Tourist Centre in Ganges, which is again only a 10 minute walk. You can also rent a car, scooter or bicycle on this island. There is 1 taxi service on island (however they tend to be pricey).

How far from town are you? Is it walkable?We are a 10 minute walk from Ganges Village & Marina. When you arrive, we can show you the "short-cut" route we prefer to take into town.

How far are you from the seaplanes?We are about a 12-minute walk from the seaplanes.

What is check-in time? Can I check-in early?Check-in time is from 3-6pm. Please do not arrive early.

Without a Front Desk, how do I check-in?Ring the doorbell at the front entrance and one of us will be with you momentarily. We also offer a self check-in option with arrival anytime after 3pm.

On my departure day, can I leave my bags and pick up later?Yes. Let us know and we'll show you a spot in our lounge where you can leave your bags and pick up later the same day. We will not be locking away your bags so this is at your own discretion. Please note, that when you return your room INCLUDING the bathroom will not be available to you, and we do not have public restrooms - so plan accordingly;)

Do you have bicycle parking?Yes. We have a covered & locked shed where you can leave your bikes.

Do you serve breakfast?As of November 1, 2022 breakfast is no longer provided. However, we still have our self-serve hot beverage area available to all our guests.

Do you have a guest kitchen so I can cook my own meals?No, we do not. However, the Cottage has kitchen facilities and our Studio Suites have kitchenettes that might meet your needs. Also, our hot beverage area located in the lounge has a microwave and small fridge for guest use.

Do you provide lunch or dinner?No, we do not. But there are many nearby restaurants to choose from.

Can children stay at your B&B?Children of all ages are welcome in our Cottage and Studio Suites. Children 12 and over are welcome in our Main Guest House rooms. Please note that all of our rooms have a max. occupancy of 2, children included.

Can we bring our well-behaved pet(s)?Yes, with advance notice we would love to have your furry companion in the Cottage or a Studio Suite. There is also a small one-time fee. See our PETS page for more information.

I'm allergic to cats, will that be an issue?If you are allergic to cats (or dislike them), our B&B probably isn't the right one for you. Our cats go in and out of the main guest house at will, so we will not be able to keep them out - plus this is their home:).

Do you have laundry facilities for guests?Sorry, no we do not.

Are there TVs in the rooms?The Cottage and Studio Suites have small TVs. But the rooms in the Main Guest House do not. However, we have a TV in the lounge that you can use.

Do you have board games?Yes! We have an assortment of games for you to choose from.

I'm allergic to down/feathers, do you have non-feather bedding alternatives?Yes, we have poly-fill pillows and duvets available upon special request and advance notice.

What toiletries do you provide?We provide soap, shampoo & conditioner. Bathrooms also have towels are hairdryers.

Do you have oceanview rooms?No, we do not.
